The ‘soul’ has different types that always belong to a certain aspect of the personality: that of the animal, the blood, the intellect etc. These souls are mortal and disintegrate after the biological death. Rosicrucians, however, also speak of another ‘soul’, the ‘immortal soul’, the link between divine Spirit and the personality. In most cases this ‘immortal soul’ is only a sleeping principle (the rose of the heart) that needs to be awakened. Christ is said to be the savior of the soul because there is no higher life without an absolutely purified soul-mediator.
